Angels Stadium Swim meet
This was a fun lil sweet event. This was hosted for a swim club for young kids ages 8 to high school. The colors of this event were red and blue, I did cringe a lil bit as I did not want to make something that looked like fourth of July. So I brought in the color fuchsia to go with the fuchsia roses and a filler flower of pink heather. Using the red Gerbera Daisies I felt was perfect to bring in the red as it was more of a youthful whimsical flower to me. So I figured with alot of kids around that would be perfect.

50th Anniversary Party, Richard Nixon Library, Yorba Linda Febuary 25th 2012
I got a call from my cell phone…I dont usually answer my cell phone if I dont know the number but this time I did. I was just sitting on my couch one morning, getting ready for the day and got a call. I wondered how she got my cell phone number…I dont have this on my website!?!? But I guess way down at the bottom in teeny tiny numbers…there it was. But so happy I picked up! We immediately hit it off and seriously chatted on the phone for like an hour.
Ronda was looking for florals for her parents 50th wedding anniversary that was being held at the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. We decided on using lots of red and burgundy roses as her invitations featured red roses. This lush and romantic color scheme went so perfect with the champagne/gold linens that were chosen.
I used a low square glass vase and lined the inside with red ti leaves. Using all shades of reds and burgundy’s made the transition of these colors just so warm and yummy. Red and burgundy roses, red amaryllis, burgundy dahlias and burgundy cymbidium orchids made these designs just so luxurious.
We are so excited to be going back to the Richard Nixon Library this year…I think 3 of the weddings their are red and burgundy too!
Personal Flowers
I am always delighted to do just personal flowers…especially when its my style…dark, luscious…I was a bit concerned that this color choice might be a bit to dark, which I love, but Brenda insisted and loved the color combination. Yesssss… She loved the dark purple calla lilles, black beauty roses, mokey tail fern…and to bring in her royal blue color, accents of peacock feathers. Thank you Brenda for choosing emporaflora to be a part of your special day!
Wedding of Cindy and Craig The Muckenthaler Fullerton
People like Cindy and Craig are the reason why I really enjoy what I do. As soon as we met, we all instantly became friends. It really means alot when your clients really have trust in you. We basically went threw my portfolio and they pointed out things that they liked and gave me kind of a guide line of colors and the theme which they wanted which was fun and whimsical.
We decided on lining the aisle with pomander balls and doing a swirl design of lemon lime roses petals to capture that fun whimsical feel. Now, to re purpose these pomander balls into centerpieces? Cindy brought me her own vase and I decided to incorporate the pomanders on top. Swirling blue wire and stringing on green Cymbidium orchids in submerged water made the theme come through.
The other style were boxes in their colors with glass cylinders with submerged bear grass and a floating candle with simple accents of green Cymbidiums and blue bella donna delphinium.
Congratulations Cindy and Craig! Call us and lets hang out!
ABC Coordinator Meeting Featuring emporaflora at Hotel Seven4one
This was a great opportunity for us….emporaflora featured at ABC’s February coordinator meeting at Hotel Seven4one. I have seen this venue so many times in pictures and what not and have never been able to figure out where it was. This place is probably one of my new favorite venues. Its very intimate and modern, this venue just speaks our style. When we were asked to do the flowers for this event we were very excited. This event fell on Valentines day, and for a florist doing anything around the Valentines day holiday roses are triple their price. For me a red rose is my favorite flower and I have always associated Valentines Day with red roses. So I just bit the bullet and got the roses. What made this event even more fun to do was that they teamed me up with Lindsey from a Wish and a Whisk who does the most amazing specialty cakes. So we met up at her place mind you that her place is amazing and almost like a studio type work space. You walk in and the brightness if her place makes you feel like you walked into sunshine. What we decided to do was incorporate her sweets with my florals. Basically an interactive design where they can see the flowers along with eating her sweets. Since this event was more of a cocktail style, there was no need for me to go really elaborate on the floral designs. So I just made simple designs showcasing the beautiful flower of just a rose. I wanted to show what you could do differently with using just roses and having each placement of each rose be absolutely perfect to showcase the beauty of them. One of the really cool roses that I chose to work with, which everyone was commenting on and thought that I had painted them, were the Intuition Roses. They look as if they had been splatter painted….Very cool. You’ll see in one of the arrangements I even incorporated the rose steams and also in that same design I kept some of the rose thorns on to give it a different texture which I thought was cool too. Hotel Seven4one also has these cool chain curtains from the ceiling to the floor. I really wanted to do something to bring color there to bring your eyes up. So yes we did, we made big heart composite rose designs. I think this was one of the show stoppers, it was very cool. I can’t wait till I get to do more work at this venue. Thank you Kristina Lee Photography for taking and sharing your amazing work!
